Men's Volleyball Wins Seventh Straight, Sweeps Misericordia Double-Header

GLENSIDE, Pa. - The Arcadia University men's volleyball team won its sixth and seventh straight contests with a double-header sweep against Misericordia University on Saturday afternoon. The Knights took both contests in straight sets as they improved to 8-2 on the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Knights edged out the Cougars in a tightly-contested opening set, 25-22. The Knights put together a 5-0 run early in the contest to pull ahead by three points, 6-3. However, Misericordia responded with a 6-1 run later in the stanza to regain the lead. After both teams traded leads late in the set, Arcadia put Misericordia away with three-straight points to end the set. 

- Arcadia jumped out to a commanding 10-4 lead in the second set. Misericordia attempted to claw back into the game, but were silenced by consecutive kills from Anthony Devantier and Dylan Zimmerman. The Knights went on to win the set comfortably, 25-15. 

- The Knights clinched a straight-sets victory with a 25-17 result in the closing set. Arcadia pulled away midway through the stanza with an 8-1 rally to give themselves a nine point advantage, 19-10. Collin Nissley and Zimmerman each had two kills during the squad's run. Zimmerman closed out the set with a kill to claim the opening match.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The opening stanza started with five lead changes until the Knights began to distance themselves with a 5-0 run, which featured one kill and an ace from Zimmerman. The Cougars would respond with an 8-2 rally, which gave the squad a critical two-point lead, 23-21. With its backs against the wall, Arcadia regained the lead with three-straight points, which included back-to-back Nissley kills, 24-23. The Knights went on to capture the set 28-26. 

- The Knights jumped out to a 10-4 lead to begin the second set, which featured kills from four different players. Arcadia maintained its lead throughout the stanza and held on for a 25-15 victory. 

- Arcadia made quick work of the Cougars with a 25-17 victory in the third set. The Knights opened with a 14-6 lead following an Owen Heft service ace. Both teams elected to have their benches finish out the match as the Knights coasted to victory with kills from 11 different players on the match.
