HOBOKEN, N.J. - The Arcadia University softball team split its double-header at Stevens to open its season series on Saturday afternoon. Megan Sooy and Alexis Burge led the Knights in the finale with seven combined RBI and one home run each. 

Burge went a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate with three RBI, two doubles and a home run in the finale. Sooy also put together a dominant performance with two hits, four RBI and a home run. 

ARCADIA 2, STEVENS 3
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Knights tallied a pair of runs in the first inning to take an early 2-0 lead. Alex DeStefano opened the rally with a single and the Knights took advantage of a fielding error on a sacrifice bunt to put the first two batters on base. Burge plated the first run with a sacrifice fly to left field, while Sooy singled up the middle to add on another run.

- Stevens tied things up with two runs in the fourth inning. The Ducks plated the first runner with an RBI groundout, while adding one more with a single to left field, 2-2.

- The Ducks drove home the go-ahead run in the sixth inning with an RBI double down the left field line, 3-2. Stevens then retired the Knights in order to seal victory in the seventh inning.

ARCADIA 9, STEVENS 4
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Ducks lit up the scoreboard first with one run in the second inning. However, the Knights answered with a three spot in the third inning with a Sooy three-run homer to center field, 3-1. DeStefano and Burge scored on the play after reaching on singles. 

- The Knights added a pair in the fifth inning to expand its lead to four runs. DeStefano and Madi Costigan opened the inning with consecutive singles, while Burge plated one run with a double down the left field line. Sooy then grounded out to third base to bring home Costigan, 5-1.

- Arcadia broke open the game with four runs in the sixth inning. Zwicker plated one run with a single through the right side and DeStefano added another with an RBI groundout. Burge then capped off the inning with a two-run homer to right field, 9-2.
