DALLAS, Pa. - The seventh-seeded Arcadia University women's lacrosse team saw its 2021 season come to an end Tuesday night in the quarterfinals of the MAC Freedom Tournament in a 21-8 loss at second-seeded Misericordia.
Mac Ferlow had a season-high four goals in her final game for the Knights, while
Hannah McAllister and
Sarah Morris had two each on the night.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Knights faced an early deficit as the Cougars scored the game's first three goals in the opening minutes.
Sarah Morris answered by cutting the deficit to one with back-to-back goals within a minute of each other, the first of which coming on an assist from
Mackenzie Hoffman.
-Arcadia stayed stride for stride with the hosts over the next ten-plus minutes as Ferlow answered two Misericordia tallies with her first two goals of the night to hold the deficit at one, 5-4, but the Cougars netted seven-straight goals to close out the half to take a 12-4 lead into the break.
-The Cougars added on to their scoring run to open the second half to extend the advantage, but the Knights answered with three-straight scores of their own as Ferlow completed her hat trick before McAllister found the back of the net twice in a 68-second span to cut into the deficit. Ferlow added on to her total with a free-position goal with under three minutes remaining in regulation to cap the season for the Knights.
