Men’s Soccer Drops Battle at Scranton

SCRANTON, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's soccer team fell to Scranton University, 1-0, after surrendering a second half goal on Wednesday night. Both teams were evenly matched for the majority of the game, but the Knights were unable to find the back of the net.

HOW IT HAPPENED

- The Royals made a run at the net midway through the opening half. Scranton was able to find free space in the box, but Logan Stafford prevented a shot on net with a perfectly-timed slide, which poked the ball away from the Royals' attacker and out of the box.

- Matt Berndlmaier had a quality scoring chance in the 40th minute after the Knights were awarded a free kick from 10-yards outside the box. The defender struck the ball to the top left side of the net, but the attempt was snagged by the Royals keeper.

- Duncan O'Connor and Thomas Hoy registered shots on goal in the second half, but were unable to connect. Scranton ended up scoring the deciding goal on an elevated shot from outside the box, which beat the keeper high.
