CORTLAND, N.Y. - The Arcadia University women's volleyball team opened play at the Red Dragon Classic Friday night, falling in straight sets to host SUNY Cortland in the opening match before coming all the way back from a 2-0 deficit to defeat Fredonia in the nightcap, 3-2. Michelle Frank registered double figures in kills in both matches while posting a match-high six aces in the win over Fredonia, and Estefania Martinez-Sola combined for 62 assists over the pair of matches.

ARCADIA 0, SUNY CORTLAND 3
HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Knights fell behind in the early going but rallied to tie the first set at eight following three-straight kills from Martinez-Sola, Frank, and Nicole Dallara. Arcadia stayed within striking distance in the middle stages of the set, but an 8-2 Red Dragon run down the stretch proved costly as the hosts took the opener, 25-17.

-The two sides traded points to open the second set and despite four kills from Frank, the Red Dragons pulled away late for the 25-18 win to jump out to a 2-0 lead.

-Arcadia claimed the first three points of the third set before falling victim to a 4-0 Cortland run to relinquish the lead, 10-7. Trailing 19-15 in the late stages of the set, the Knights ripped off a 4-0 run of their own to draw even at 19, powered by a pair of Danielle Fedorchak kills. Despite the rally, the Red Dragons ended the set on a 6-0 run to take the match, 3-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED (Play-by-Play will be provided once it becomes available)
-Despite dropping the first two sets in the concluding match of Friday night, 25-16 and 25-20, the Knights rallied back to win the third and fourth sets 25-21 and 25-19, respectively, to force a decisive fifth set. Arcadia kept the momentum going with a 15-11 victory to cap off the come-from-behind win - its first of the 2021 season - as Frank posted match-highs with 13 kills and six aces while Estefania-Martinez provided a match-best 34 assists.
