HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Arcadia University women's soccer program opened its 2021 campaign Saturday in the Haverford College Kick Off Classic, falling to the host Fords, 2-0. The Fords netted a goal in each half to come away with the win while fending off ten Knight shots on the afternoon.

The Knights draw either TCNJ or Albright in the consolation match Saturday afternoon at 2:30 p.m.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Knights put the offensive pressure on early in the opening ten minutes, earning a pair of corners, but shots on net from both Kira Bochard and Amanda Thaler were both fended away to keep the game scoreless.

-Haverford answered on the opposite end of the field in the 19th minute, netting the first goal of the afternoon as Jaclyn Corbin collected the loose ball coming off a blocked shot and found the back of the net.

-Thaler and Madison Toyama each had chances on net in the second half as the Knights tried to provide the equalizer in the latter stages of the second half, but the Fords put the game away with their second score in the 86th minute to secure the 2-0 victory.
