Martinez-Sola Selected to NCAA Division III Student Immersion Program

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Arcadia University women's volleyball junior Estefanía Martínez-Solá, has been accepted into the 2023 NCAA Division III Student Immersion Program, which will take place from Jan. 11-14 in San Antonio, Texas.

40 ethnic minority students from NCAA Division III were chosen who have a strong interest in a career in Division III athletics (coaching and/or administration).

"Being accepted into the NCAA Division III Student Immersion Program means the world to me, Last year," Martínez-Solá said. "I realized that I wanted to work in athletics, more specifically, I want to coach at the collegiate level. Upon learning about the NCAA Division III Student Immersion Program, I immediately knew that I wanted to apply. This conference is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I realized that this would be a great opportunity for me to interact with people that are experts in their field and get a glimpse of the world in which I want to work in."

"We are so proud of Estefanía for earning this opportunity," head women's volleyball coach Emily Poole said. "She has worked hard all year to improve her volleyball knowledge and develop as a young professional. Her work ethic, love for the game and strong relationship building skills will surely set her up for success coaching at the next level."

At the 2023 NCAA Convention, the selected students will be exposed to Division III, its members and the governance process. In addition to the scheduled Division III Convention programming, participants will attend welcome and debrief meetings, participate in a DiSC assessment, and be assigned to a mentor. The goal is to build the pipeline of candidates to ultimately diversify the coaching and/or administrative landscape in Division III.
