Big First Quarter Leads Women's Basketball to Win at Lycoming

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - A 23-9 lead after the first quarter proved to be enough separation as the Arcadia University women's basketball team defeated Lycoming College by a 59-53 final in Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) play on Saturday afternoon, running its win streak to three games. This is the Knights first 2-0 start to a full conference season since 2018-19. Scarlett Glasser-Nehls and Mara Weaver each led the way with 15 points, which was a new season-high for Weaver. Delaney Bell added 11 points and 12 rebounds for her first career double-double while setting career-highs in assists (5), blocks (3), and steals (4).

HOW IT HAPPENED
-After Lycoming took a 6-3 lead with just under four minutes passed in the first quarter, Glasser-Nehls hit a three-pointer and a jumper, giving Arcadia the lead back in what ended up as a 20-0 run to end the quarter.

-The Warriors battled back in the second, outscoring the Knights 15-9 as Arcadia held a 32-21 advantage going into halftime.

-The Knights were outscored 32-27 in the second half but Arcadia went 6-for-9 from the free-throw line down the stretch to secure the win.
