Men's Lacrosse Secures No. 2 Seed with Win at Misericordia
 
DALLAS, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's lacrosse team wrapped up the No. 2 seed in the upcoming Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) Championship, defeating Misericordia University by a 13-6 final on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Knights conclude the regular season with a 7-1 record in conference games and 11-5 overall.
 
After Misericordia notched the first score, Wesley Sporer tied the game with an unassisted goal.
 
Landan Hajek gave Arcadia the lead at 7:33 of the first before the Cougars tied the score with 4:04 on the clock.
 
Arcadia registered the next four goals with Brian Albertsen scoring unassisted with 3:08 on the clock before Billy Burton put one home on a man-up opportunity assisted by Kyle McLaughlin with 2:07 on the clock.
 
McLaughlin began the second quarter with an unassisted goal at 13:06 before Albertsen finished the run five seconds later with an assist from Brett Sciascia to give the Knights a 6-2 lead.
 
After the Cougars cut the lead to 6-3, Hajek got his second score assisted by Albertsen followed by a tally from Justin Chinici assisted by McLaughlin pushing the led to 8-3.
 
The Knights went on another four-goal run after Misericordia scored its fourth goal, making the lead 12-4 with goals from Albertson, James Barretta, Hajek, and Sean Connolly.
 
Connolly finished the scoring for Arcadia with 2:12 on the clock assisted by Chinici.
 
Timmy Fyock stopped 17 shots to pick up the victory.
 
Albertsen led the way with four points on three goals and an assist. McLaughlin and Hajek each added three points while Chinici, Sporer, and Connolly each contributed two points.
 
Arcadia returns to action on Thursday when it will host No. 3 seed DeSales University for a 7:00 p.m. contest. The Knights and the Bulldogs met at Jean Lenox West Field on April 20 with Arcadia securing a 12-11 win in double overtime.
