Presto and Dolan Combine to No-Hit Lesley in Opening Game of NCAA Softball Regional
 
GLENSIDE – Juliana Presto and Brenna Dolan backed a solid outing from the hitters with a combined no-hitter as the Arcadia University softball team opened the NCAA Division III Glenside Regional with a 10-0 win over Lesley University at Blankley Field on Friday afternoon.
 
The Knights imropved to 31-9 while the Lynx fell to 18-16.

After Presto struck out the side in the top of the first, Arcadia tacked on six runs in the bottom of the frame. Serena Goodridge opened the scoring with a double to left-center bringing home Nathalia Diianni followed by a wild pitch that scored Megan Sooy and moved Goodridge to third. Effie Jamanis made the score 3-0 with a base hit to center scoring Goodridge, and after Presto doubled to the gap in right-center moving E. Jamanis to third, Allison LaRochelle laid down a sacrifice bunt that began with a rundown at third but was eventually thrown away by the catcher bringing in all three runners.
 
Sooy added on in the bottom of the second when she doubled scoring Madi Costigan who lead off with a single and moved Diianni to third after she walked. Goodridhe brought Diianni home with a single and after a pitching change E. Jamanis singled to right center scoring Sooy.
 
Costigan finished the scoring in the bottom of the third with an infield single that brought home Morgan Tripodi, who reached on a leadoff single to center.
 
Dolan came on to finish the game, striking out the final two batters.
 
Presto was electric, recording 11 of the 12 outs she got across four innings by strikeout to improve to 22-4 on the season.
 
The Knights return to action tomorrow at noon when they will face Worcester Polytechnic Institute, who defeated Johnson & Wales on a walk-off walk in nine innings in the first game.
