No. 5/6 Baseball Set to Host NCAA Division III Regional
GLENSIDE – For the first time in program history, the No. 5/6 Arcadia University baseball team will host a Regional in the 2022 NCAA Division III Baseball Championship this weekend at Skip Wilson Field. The top-seeded Knights will face off with Husson University on Friday at 10:00 a.m. and will be followed by Oswego State and Elizabethtown College at 1:30 p.m.
The losers of each first round game will match up on Saturday at 8:30 a.m. in the first elimination game while the first-game winners will faceoff at noon. At 3:30 p.m., the winner of game three and the loser of game four face each other for a chance to advance to Sunday's championship round. Sunday's action will start at 11:00 a.m. with an "if necessary" seventh game beginning 45 minutes after the conclusion of game six.

Tickets must be purchased on site at one of two entrances to the facility while driving up to the parking lot. Cash or credit card will be accepted.
Arcadia is making its third appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament since 2017 after capturing the MAC Freedom crown on Saturday, sweeping Misericordia, who had won the previous 10 tournaments, by 10-9 and 9-2 finals.
Connor Cheeseman was named the Tournament MVP after a tournament appearance that included a go-ahead grand slam in the first game against Misericordia.
The Knights are led by MAC Freedom Player of the Year and First Team All-MAC Freedom selection
Alex Madera. Madera started in 44 games for the Knights and led the team with a .444 batting average, which is the second-best mark in the conference. He led the conference in hits with 74, stolen bases with 34 and his 58 runs scored led the conference as well. His 34 stolen bases are a new single-season program and he also added nine doubles, four triples and 27 RBI's.
Owen Margolis has been a true fireman in the bullpen this season, finishing the year leading the conference with a 10-0 record and nine saves, both of which set new single season program records for Arcadia. He also led the conference in ERA with a 1.85 across 48.2 innings pitched, allowing only 10 earned runs on 44 hits and 12 walks while striking out 37 batters this season. Sixth-year head coach
Bryan Torresani is looking to take the Knights past the regional round for the first time after falling just short in 2017 and 2018.
Oswego State returns to the NCAA Division III Tournament for the fifth time since 2017 after falling in the SUNYAC Championship to Cortland State.
The Lakers are led at the plate by First Team All-SUNYAC selection Paul Timmaro. Tammaro has a team-leading batting average of .469 with 69 hits in 147 at bats, good for seventh in the nation while also sporting an on-base percentage of .558. Tammaro is nationally ranked in batting average (7th), hits (45th), runs (21st), runs per game (12th), on base percentage (12th) and 44th in stolen bases. Oswego State is led on the mound by Kieran Finnegan, who finished with 65.2 innings pitched, an ERA of 2.47, and 56 strikeouts, while only allowing 18 earned runs. 11
th year head coach Scott Landers will look to take the team to his third Division III World Series after taking teams there in 2017 and 2018.
Elizabethtown makes its return to the NCAA Division III Tournament since 2017 after a perfect 3-0 trip through the Landmark Tournament, defeating Susquehanna twice to earn the crown.
The Blue Jays are led at the plate by Robbie Bertucio, who was fourth in the Landmark in hits (59), fifth in batting average (.376), and sixth in on-base percentage. He reached career-highs in every statistical category this season while shifting to shortstop to register a .982 fielding percentage, including no blemishes during the Landmark Conference Championship run. His 26-game hit streak is the longest by any player in the league this season. Elizabethtown is led on the mound by relief pitcher Zach Silfies, who was tied for fourth in the Landmark in saves (3), fifth in ERA (3.43) and 10th in strikeouts (45). The juniors most recent save was the most memorable, striking out four batters, including the final three outs, to close out Etown's Landmark Conference Championship win against Susquehanna. Fifth-year head coach Adam Sheibly is making his first coaching appearance at the Division III Regionals.
Husson is making its second consecutive appearance in the NCAA Division III Regionals after capturing the NAC title with a 3-0 record, defeating Thomas 11-7 in the title game.
The Eagles are led at the plate by Tyler Parke, who named the East Division All-Conference catcher after finishing third in the NAC with a .387 batting average. Parke tallied 36 hits, eight doubles, a team-high four triples and two home runs to go along with 23 RBI's and a .463 on-base percentage. Cam Graham was Husson's top starter, finishing the year with a 5-3 record across 11 starts and a 5.07 earned run average for the East Division All-Conference selection. Third-year head coach Chris Morris will look to lead the team to the Super Regionals for the first time.
