No. 5/6 Baseball Falls 11-4 to Oswego; Winner-Take-All Final Suspended in 5th
 
AMBLER – The No. 5/6 Arcadia University baseball team fell by an 11-4 final to No. 16/17 Oswego State in game one of the NCAA Division III Baseball Glenside Regional Championship on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Knights, who have to win one of the two final games, find themselves trailing 4-1 in the top of the fifth of the final game when play was suspended due to weather in the top of the fifth.
 
Arcadia opened the scoring in the first game when Alex Madera led off with a single, moved to third on Zachary Sekelick's single to right and scored on. Sacrifice fly off the bat of Justin Massielo.
 
Oswego tied the score in the top of the second on a solo home run and took the lead with a run in the fourth. The Lakers continued to push runs across with three in the top of the fifth to take a 5-1 advantage.
 
The Knights began to chip away in the bottom of the fifth when Madera singled to right brining home Emilio Pallante and Massielo singled to left scoring Joseph Kumar to cut the deficit to 5-3.
 
Oswego put up six runs in the top of the eighth to take an 11-3 lead before Arcadia pushed a run across in the bottom of the ninth when Matt Donchez grounded out allowing Sekelick to score.
 
Zach Steiger suffered his first loss of the season, allowing two runs on two hits across 3.2 innings with three walks and four strikeouts.
 
Madera led the way at the plate in the first game, finishing 3-for-5 with one run and one rbi. Sekelick and Massielo added two hits each.
 
Game two started with a bang for Oswego as it pushed across four runs in the inning with a help of a three-run homer.
 
The Knights got on the board in the top of the third when Nick Opalkowski was hit by a pitch to start the inning, moved to second on a bunt single from Madera, moved to third on a groundout from Sekelick, and scored on Massielo's fly out to center field.
 
The game will resume Monday at 11:00 a.m.
