Top-Seeded No. 6/9 Arcadia Baseball Set to Host MAC Freedom Semifinals
GLENSIDE – After a record-setting regular season that saw the team hit a new high of 34 wins, the top-seeded No. 6/9 Arcadia University baseball team is set to host No. 4 DeSales University at Skip Wilson Field on Saturday for game one of the 2022 Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) semifinals with first pitch scheduled for 1:00 p.m.

Arcadia has been led at the plate and in the field this season by shortstop
Alex Madera, who is batting .434 with 62 hits. Madera finished the regular season with 51 runs scored, 21 driven in, eight doubles, four triples, 34 walks, and a program-record 32 stolen bases while striking out on 14 times in 143 at bats. Second baseman
Justin Massielo enters the postseason with a .411 batting average with 35 runs scored, 39 RBI's, 16 doubles, four triples, 13 walks, 11 hit-by-pitches, and 11 stolen bases while striking out on 12 times across 151 plate appearances. The offense tied for the MAC Freedom lead with a .317 batting average while logging the second most at-bats and pacing the league in hits.
The Knights are led on the mound by relief pitcher
Owen Margolis, who carries an 8-0 record with a program-record eight saves with a 1.85 earned run average across 39 innings this season. Margolis has struck out 28 while walking 10. Arcadia's pitchers combined for a 4.45 ERA, which led the conference while tossing the second-most innings at 327.2.
