GLENSIDE – The Arcadia University women's soccer team fell in a close contest, opening the 2022 season with a 2-1 defeat to Swarthmore College on Thursday evening at Jean Lenox West Field. Caroline Weirich got the Knights on the board in the 23rd minute when she scored on a penalty kick after an Arcadia player was taken down in the box.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-Abby Fuchs made an early stop to keep the score level before the Garnet opened the scoring in the 18th minute.
-Weirich tied the score with her first tally.
-Swarthmore broke the tie in the 62nd minute and Arcadia was unable to find the equalizer late in the game.
