Women's Volleyball Rolls Past Bryn Mawr in Season-Opening Victory

GLENSIDE, Pa. - The Arcadia University women's volleyball team picked up a season-opening, 3-0 victory over Bryn Mawr on Thursday night inside Alumni Gymnasium. 

With the win, Head Coach Emily Poole picked up her first career victory.  

Estefania Martinez-Sola led the Knights attack with nine kills. She also led Arcadia with 17 assists.  

Michelle Frank tallied a career-high seven aces in the win.

HOW IT HAPPENED 

Set 1: Arcadia 25, Bryn Mawr 16 

The Knights six consecutive points to extend their early lead to 10-2. Arcadia extended their lead to 18-5 and continued its strong play to take a 1-0 lead in the match. 

Set 2: Arcadia 25, Bryn Mawr 14 

Arcadia had a 9-7 lead in the early stages of the middle set. After the Owls cut their deficit to one, the Knights took six consecutive points giving them a 15-8 lead. Bryn Mawr won four straight points, but Arcadia answered with eight straight points and then finished off the set to take a two-set advantage in the match. 

Set 3: Arcadia 25, Bryn Mawr 14 

The Knights continued their strong play in the third set and used an 8-0 run in the middle stages of the set to take their season-opening match.
