Men's Soccer Uses Four Different Goalscorers in 4-0 Win Over Penn State Berks

READING, Pa. - The Arcadia University men's soccer team used four different goal scorers to claim a 4-0 win over Penn State Berks on Wednesday night.  

The Knights improved their record to 6-2-2 with the win and are now unbeaten in their last five contests. 

Ashton Davis, Thomas Hoy, Ethan Torpey and Matthew Clevenger all found the back of the net for the Knights.  

Arcadia recorded its fourth consecutive clean sheet in the match. Goalkeeper Jake Varrato made two saves in the win.

HOW IT HAPPENED 

  • Davis opened the scoring for Arcadia in the 44th minute on a shot from outside the box to give the Knights a 1-0 lead. Gunnar Swanger tallied an assist on the goal. 

  • Hoy doubled the Knights lead in the 55th minute as he converted a penalty kick. 

  • Torpey scored his second goal of the season in the 79th minute as he took advantage of a Penn State Berks turnover to give the Knights a 3-0 lead.  

  • Clevenger scored his first career goal in the 88th minute as Penn State Berks defense failed to clear the ball and the first-year midfielder finished inside the left post.
