YORK, Pa. – The Arcadia University women's volleyball split in its action at the York Tri-Match on Saturday, falling to the hosts, York in four sets and sweeping Penn State Schuylkill.
In the match against York,
Alysa Dennison led the Knights with 12 kills. Estefania Martinez-Sola had a double-double with 29 assists and 14 digs.
In the Knights win over Penn State Schuylkill,
Nicole Dallara led all players with nine kills and five aces.
YORK 3, ARCADIA 1
HOW IT HAPPENED
Set 1: York 25, Arcadia 17:
The Knights had a strong start to the match, getting out to an 11-6 lead. York began its comeback with a 7-1 run, giving the Spartans a 13-12 lead. After taking the lead, the Spartans closed the set on a 12-4 run to take the opening frame.
Set 2: York 25, Arcadia 23:
York got out to a 14-10 lead, but Arcadia took a 15-14 lead with a 5-0 run. The Spartans took the lead for good in the set through a 4-0 run, giving them a 19-17 lead. The Knights got within a point on multiple occasions, but York held on to take a 2-0 lead in the match.
Set 3: Arcadia 25, York 18:
The Spartans held an early 9-3 lead. Arcadia got back into the set with a 14-6 run to tie the frame at 17. After York took the next point to retake the lead, the Knights won the final eight points of the set to force a fourth frame.
Set 4: York 25, Arcadia 15:
With the set tied at six, York went on a 7-1 run, taking a 13-7 lead. The Spartans used a 5-0 run to pull away some more in the set and went on to close out the frame to win the match.

Set 1: Arcadia 25, Penn State Schuylkill 6:
The Knights won the first 11 points of the set. Arcadia then went on another extended run in the middle of the set, on its way to winning the opening set.
Set 2: Arcadia 25, Penn State Schuylkill 9:
Arcadia once again used multiple extended runs to take a 2-0 lead in the match.
Set 3: Arcadia 25, Penn State Schuylkill 20:
Penn State Schuylkill got out to a 10-3 lead, but the Knights fought back to take a 20-13 lead with a 17-3 run. Penn State Schuylkill got within four points on multiple occasions, but the Knights closed out the set to win the match.
