UNION, N.J. - A third quarter advantage of 22-11 helped lift the Arcadia University women's basketball team to a 64-61 road non-conference win at Kean University on Saturday afternoon.
The victory continued the Knights best start in program history.
FOR THE RECORD
-Arcadia moved to 9-0 this year while Kean fell to 6-6.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-Kean held a 17-6 lead with two minutes left in the first before a 4-0 run to end the quarter helped the Knights cut the deficit to 17-10 after one.
-Arcadia opened the second on an 8-0 run with five points from
Hanna Rhoades and three from
Delaney Bell.
-The Knights led 20-19 with five minutes left, but an 11-4 run gave the Cougars a 30-24 lead going into halftime.
-Arcadia started the third on a 10-0 run, taking a 34-30 lead with 6:37 on the clock.
-The Knights best run finished at 20-4, holding a 44-34 lead with 3:36 left in the third.
-Arcadia led 46-41 heading into the final 10 minutes.
-The Knights were outscored in the fourth, but
Abby Beam went four-for-four from the free throw line in the final 20 seconds to ice the win.
