NEWARK, N.J. - Josh Parks hit a layup with eight seconds left off an inbound pass capping off a career game to help lift the Arcadia University men's basketball team to a 65-64 non-conference win at Rutgers-Newark on Sunday afternoon.
Parks finished with a career-high 20 points, shooting 7-8 from the field and 4-5 from three.
FOR THE RECORD
-Arcadia improved to 7-4 with the win.
-Rutgers-Newark fell to 6-7.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-Arcadia trailed 11-6 with 14:32 left in the first half before an 11-0 run put it ahead 17-11 with 10 minutes on the clock.
-The Knights led by 25-18 with 3:19, but Rutgers-Newark finished the half on a 10-4 run as Arcadia held a 29-28 advantage going into the break.
-The Knights took a 51-41 lead with 12:18 left in the game.
-The Scarlet Raiders went on a 14-4 run to tie the game at 55 with 8:24 remaining.
-Rutgers-Newark pulled ahead 64-59 with under two minutes in the contest.
-A layup and two free throws from Parks cut the deficit to 64-63 before his game-winning layup.
