MONTCLAIR, N.J. - A late free throw from
Mara Weaver lifted the Arcadia University women's basketball team to a 46-45 victory over Ursinus College at Montclair State in non-conference play on Sunday afternoon.
FOR THE RECORD
-Arcadia improved to 11-0.
-Ursinus fell to 7-4.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-Arcadia jumped out to an 11-2 lead highlighted by three-pointers from
Scarlett Glasser-Nehls and
Hanna Rhoades.
-Ursinus closed the first quarter on a 9-1 run as the Knights led 12-11.
-Arcadia held a 19-16 advantage heading into halftime.
-The Knights began the third quarter on a 9-4 run to take a 10 point lead at 28-18 with 6:23 on the clock.
-The Bears finished the third on a 15-7 stretch, but Arcadia remained in front 35-33 going into the final quarter.
-The Knights went on a 9-1 run to retake a 10 point lead with 6:37 left in the game.
-Ursinus tied the game at 45 with a 11-1 run with 30 seconds left.
-Weaver was fouled on the ensuing possesion, hitting the back end before a stop on the defensive end at the buzzer secured the win.
