WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The Arcadia University men's basketball team held off a second half run to earn a nail-biting 78-75 victory over Wilkes University in Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) play on Saturday afternoon.
Jalen Watkins led all scorers with 27 points while
Justin Money and
Nas Johnson finished in double-figures.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-Arcadia began the contest on a 7-2 run through the first 2:15.
-Leading 10-9 with just under 16 minutes remaining, the Knights completed the initial half outscoring its opponent 41-25 to take a 51-34 lead into halftime.
-Arcadia maintained a 64-49 lead with 10:25 on the clock, but the Colonels chipped away with a 24-9 run to tie the score at 73 with 2:55 remaining.
-Money responded with a three-pointer to retake the lead, part of a 5-3 sprint to end the game and secure the victory.

-Watkins continues to maintain a substantial conference lead in both points-per-game (18.6) and rebounds-per-game (11.7).
