PATCHOGUE, N.Y. – The fourteenth-ranked Arcadia University men's volleyball team fell in five sets to St. Joseph's (LI) on Wednesday night.
Arcadia is now 10-6 on the season.
Four Knights tallied double-digit kill totals as
Danny Gonzalez had 16,
Dylan Zimmerman tallied 14 and
Owen Heft recorded 13. Gonzalez also had 10 digs for a double-double.
Vaughn McConnell dished out 47 assists in the Knights' loss. McConnell also had a double-double as the junior setter recorded 12 digs in the loss.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Set 1: Arcadia 25, St. Joseph's (LI) 21:
The Golden Eagles held an early 11-8 lead, but the Knights took a 14-12 lead through a 6-1 run. St. Joseph's (LI) battled back to tie the set, but Arcadia would never trail in the frame again as it took a 1-0 lead in the match.
Set 2: St. Joseph's (LI) 25, Arcadia 18:
St. Joseph's (LI) took a 10-3 lead to start the second set. It expanded the lead to 10, 21-11, but the Knights got back into the frame with a 5-0 run. However, that would be the closest they got in the set as St. Joseph's (LI) tied the match at one.
Set 3: St. Joseph's (LI) 25, Arcadia 16:
With the set tied at nine, The Golden Eagles used a 6-0 run to take a 15-9 lead. The Knights got within four points before the end of the set, but St. Joseph's (LI) closed out the frame to take a 2-1 lead in the match.
Set 4: Arcadia 25. St. Joseph's (LI) 18:
The Knights opened a 12-7 advantage and later used a 5-0 run to grow their lead to 19-10. Arcadia closed out the fourth set to force the fifth and final frame.
Set 5: St. Joseph's (LI) 15, Arcadia 8:
The Knights led 7-6 in the final frame, but the Golden Eagles closed out the set on an 8-2 run to win the match.
