Chinici's Career-High Nine Points Paces Men's Lacrosse Past Gwynedd Mercy

GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's lacrosse team rolled past Gwynedd Mercy, 17-5, on Saturday afternoon at Jean Lenox West Field.
 
Graduate student Justin Chinici tallied career highs in points with nine and goals with six in the Knights' victory. He also chipped in with three assists. Kyle McLaughlin also tallied a new career high as he had five goals in the win.
 
First-year goalie Nathaniel Hudgins recorded his first career victory in cage for the Knights as he made six saves on eight shots faced. Joseph Tesler also saw 21 minutes of action in goal and made seven saves.
 
The combo of Brett Sciascia and A.J. Dominguez went a combined 25-for-26 in faceoffs in the win.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Griffins scored the first goal of the game, but the Knights scored the next four in the opening quarter to take a 4-1 lead after the opening 15 minutes of play. McLaughlin (2), Chinici and Landan Hajek found the back of the net in the frame.
  • Gwynedd Mercy once again scored the first goal of the quarter, this time cutting the Knights' lead to two. Chinici (4), Albertsen (2) and McLaughlin helped Arcadia close the frame on a 7-0 run, giving the Knights an 11-2 lead at the end of the first half.
  • McLaughlin, Alex Herka and Chinici found the back of the net in the third quarter as Arcadia extended its lead to 14-3 at the end of the frame.
  • McLaughlin, Jonathan Oberholtzer and Chase Stephens sealed the win for Arcadia as the Knights' closed out the 17-5 victory in the final quarter.
