SCRANTON, Pa. - The Arcadia University baseball team split a non-conference doubleheader at the University of Scranton on Friday, taking game two 11-4 after dropping game one 10-7.
HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME TWO: ARCADIA 11, SCRANTON 4
-Scranton opened the scoring in the bottom of the first to take a 1-0 lead.
-
Thomas Strauch tied the score in the second on a sacrifice fly that brought home
Michael Bukowski.
-
Emilio Pallante gave the Knights the lead in the third when he brought home
Alex Madera, who led off the frame with a triple.
-After the Royals evened the scored in the third,
Kevin Wheeler and Strauch each had run-scoring plate appearances to give Arcadia a 4-2 advantage.
-Scranton plated two runners in the bottom of the fourth to tie the count before Pallante brought Madera home on a sacrifice fly.
-Bukowski increased the lead in the sixth when he scored on a wild pitch.
-The Knights exploded for five runs in the seventh on rbi plate appearances from
Anthony Bruno,
Kevin Wheeler, and Strauch.

Zach Steiger earned the victory, allowing four runs on seven hits with three walks and seven strikeouts in a complete-game effort.

GAME ONE: SCRANTON 10, ARCADIA 7
-Scranton opened the scoring with a run in the first.
-Massielo tied the score in the second with a single to center that brought
Hunter Curley in.
-Arcadia took its first lead in the fourth when Massielo brought home Curley with a double to left, with Massielo following on a ground out by Madera.
-After the Royals closed the gap to 3-2, the Knights added two more runs in the fifth when Curley doubled to left scoring
Matt Donchez and Massielo hit a sacrifice fly bringing in
Matthew Sot.
-Scranton tied the score with three runs in the bottom of the fifth.
-Pallante gave Arcadia the lead right back in the sixth with a sngle scoring Wheeler.
-
Griffin Murphy increased the lead to 7--5 with a run-scoring groundout in the top of the seventh.
-The Royals took the lead for good in the bottom of the seventh with five runs.
