GLENSIDE, Pa. – A walk-off single from
Allison LaRochelle in game on of the doubleheader helped the Arcadia softball team earn a split with Lycoming on Sunday afternoon. The Knights won game one, 2-1, before falling, 4-1 in the second matchup.
With the split, the Knights' record moves to 13-11 overall and 4-2 in Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) play.
GAME ONE
ARCADIA 2, LYCOMING 1 F/8
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Lycoming got on the board first in the second inning through an RBI groundout.
- The Knights answered back in the home half of the second as Taylor Sommer sent a ball up the middle for an RBI single, scoring LaRochelle.
- The winning run was scored by the Knights in the eighth inning as LaRochelle's RBI single scored Nathalia DiIanni.
- Juliana Presto picked up her ninth win of the season as she threw eight innings, while only allowing four hits and an unearned run, while striking out 12.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Lycoming scored a run in the third, two in the fourth and a run in the fifth to take a 4-0 lead in the game.
- Angel Schaefer scored the Knights' lone run in the game through a stolen base and an error from the Lycoming catcher.
