AMBLER - Carson Denham tossed a gem for the No. 1 seed Arcadia University baseball team on Saturday to the tune of a complete-game allowing two runs (one earned) on five hits with two walks and nine strikeouts to defeat No. 4 Stevens 7-2 in game one of the 2023 Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom Semifinals.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-Arcadia opened the scoring in the bottom of the first when
Trey Obarowski doubled to right bringing home
Emilio Pallante, followed by a sacrifice fly off the bat of
Kevin Wheeler that brought home
Anthony Bruno.
Justin Massielo then singled to left allowing Obarowski to touvh the plate.
-Stevens cut the lead to 3-2 with single runs in the second and fifth.
-The Knights broke it open in the fifth when
Matt Donchez launched a double to left and Massielo hit a two-run single to take a 6-2 lead.
-Bruno finished the scoring in the sixth with an RBI double to right-center scoring Pallante.
