ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Arcadia University women's volleyball team fell in its Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) opener to Lebanon Valley in four sets on Wednesday night.
Estefania Martinez-Sola and
Kelsi Warner both recorded double-doubles in the loss. Martinez-Sola had 14 kills and 10 assists while Warner had 20 assists and 10 digs.
LEBANON VALLEY 3, ARCADIA 1
HOW IT HAPPENED
Set 1: Lebanon Valley 25, Arcadia 12:
Lebanon Valley held an early 6-4 lead in the opening frame before it took the next 10 points, giving the Dutchmen a 16-4 lead. They went on to close out the opening set to take an early lead in the match.
Set 2: Lebanon Valley 25, Arcadia 13:
With the set tied at 11, Lebanon Valley ended the frame on a 14-2 run to take a 2-0 lead in the match.
Set 3: Arcadia 25, Lebanon Valley 20:
The Knights grabbed a hold of the lead in the third set through a 5-0 run, giving them a 10-6 lead. The Dutchmen battled back to tie the set at 19, but Arcadia closed out the frame on a 6-1 run to force another set in the match.
Set 4: Lebanon Valley 25, Arcadia 23:
The teams traded runs through the opening and middle stages of the set before the Knights went on a 7-1 run, giving them a 22-17 advantage. However, Lebanon Valley erased its deficit, taking eight of the final nine points of the set, giving it the frame and the match.
