GLENSIDE - Darius Isaac's career-high 26 points and seven assists lifted the Arcadia University men's basketball team to an 84-72 win inside a raucous Alumni Gymnasium in Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) play on Wednesday evening.
FOR THE RECORD
-Arcadia improved to 10-6 overall and 3-2 in conference games.
-Misericordia fell to 10-6 and 4-1, respectively.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-Both teams exchanged baskets early on before a 5-0 run gave the Knights an 11-7 lead with 16:12 on the clock.
-After the Cougars cut the lead to two, back-to-back threes from
Nas Johnson and Isaac, plus a Johnson jumper handed Arcadia a 19-9 lead.
-Misericordia cut the lead to 24-21 before five points from
Jalen Watkins and a
Corey Attivo three-pointer on a friendly roll keyed an 8-0 run to give the Knights a 32-21 lead with just under six minutes until halftime.
-Arcadia held a 41-35 lead entering the break.
-After the Cougars got the score to 43-40, another 7-0 run pushed the Knights lead back to 10.
-Misericordia again cut the deficit to three at 68-65 with 5:35 left in the game, but Arcadia finished the contest on a 16-7 run to secure the victory.
