Men's Volleyball Opens Season with Comeback Victory over Baruch

GLENSIDE - The Arcadia University men's volleyball team opened the 2024 season with a 3-2 comeback victory over Baruch College in non-conference play inside Alumni Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon.

FOR THE RECORD
-Arcadia improved to 1-0 with the win.

-Baruch fell to 0-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Set 1: Baruch 25, Arcadia 18
-Baruch began the contest with a 5-1 advantage.

-The Knights battled back with a 6-3 run, cutting the deficit to 8-7.

-The Bearcats lead stretch to 23-15 as Arcadia fell in set one.

Set 2: Arcadia 25, Baruch 22
-The Knights trailed 7-5 before four straight points gave them a 9-7 lead.

-Baruch stormed back with six straight, leading 13-9.

-Trailing 14-10, Arcadia scored eight of the next 10 points to grab an 18-16 advantage.

-The Bearcats led 22-21, but the Knights rallied for four straight points to secure the second set.

Set 3: Baruch 25, Arcadia 17
-Arcadia held a 10-8 lead, however, Baruch outscored the Knights 17-7 to take a commanding two set to one lead.

Set 4: Arcadia 25, Baruch 18
-Arcadia opened with a 3-1 advantage.

-The Knights lead ballooned to 9-4.

-The Bearcats closed the gap to 17-16, but Arcadia rallied to force a fifth set.

Set 5: Arcadia 15, Baruch 13
-Andrew Ahn began the fifth with three straight kills.

-After Baruch got on the board, a block from Ryan Miller and Riley Kodidek, plus a kill from Miller gave the Knights a 5-1 lead.

-Arcadia led 12-7 before the Bearcats rallied off five straight to tie the score.

-Two kills from Josh Clendening and an attack error closed out the victory for the Knights.
