AMBLER - The No. 23 Arcadia University baseball team opened Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) play with a heart-stopping 11-10 win over No. 17 Misericordia University at Skip Wilson Field on Saturday afternoon.
FOR THE RECORD
-Arcadia improved to 1-0 in conference and 9-5 overall.
-Misericordia fell to 7-7 and 0-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-Misericordia opened the scoring with a run in the top of the first.
-
Justin Massielo tied the score for the Knights in the bottom half when singled home
Matt Donchez.
-The Cougars retook the advantage with two runs in the top of the second.
-
Eli Savitt cut the deficit to 3-2 in the bottom of the second with a sacrifice fly that scored
Gabe Diaz.
-Misericordia took a 6-2 lead with runs in the third and fifth.
-
Matthew Sot launched a triple in the fifth that brought home Savitt to cut the score to 6-3.
-Arcadia climbed back to take an 8-6 lead with five runs in the sixth.

Anthony Bruno increased the Knights lead to 11-6 in the seventh when he launched a three-run homer that scored
Tommy Ajjan and
Emilio Pallante.
-The Cougars crossed the plate four times in the top of the ninth but Arcadia held on for the victory.

Jack Dovidio earned the with 4.2 innings of relief, allowing four runs on six hits with two strikeouts and no walks.
