GLENSIDE - A huge sixth inning in game two capped by a walk-off grand slam from
Taylor Sommer helped the Arcadia University softball team split its Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) doubleheader, taking game two 14-5 in six innings after falling 11-8 in game one.
FOR THE RECORD
-Arcadia stands at 7-11 overall and 1-3 in conference play.
-FDU-Florham moved to 7-8 and 1-1, respectively.
HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME TWO: ARCADIA 14, FDU-FLORHAMÂ 5
-FDU-Florham put up two runs in the top of the second.

Allie LaRochelle cut the score to 2-1 in the bottom of the second with a sacrifice fly scoring
Molly Delio.
-Sommer tied the score in the third with a single to left scoring
Nathalia DiIanni, followed by a bases-loaded walk by
Molly Delio scoring
Megan Klose.
-The Devils retied the score in the top of the fourth.
-FDU-Florham took a 5-3 lead with two runs in the fifth.

Zoey Ritter was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the bottom of the fourth to bring in
Angel Schaefer.
-The Knights exploded for 10 runs in the sixth, capped off by a walk-off grand slam from Sommer.
-
Paige Nolan earned her second win with 1.2 shutout innings of relief with two strikeouts.

-FDU-Florham crossed the plate eight times in the top of the first.

Dakota Fanelli got the Knights on the board in the bottom of the first when she drove in Costigan.
-Costigan scored again in the third on a wild pitch.
-After the Devils increased their lead to 9-2 in the top of the fourth, DiIanni launched a three-run triple to center bringing home Delio, Costigan, and Ritter.
-FDU-Florham increased the deficit to 10-5 in the to of the sixth.
-Klose hit a double to center in the bottom of the sixth scoring DiIanni.
-The Devils pushed an 11th run across in the top of the seventh before Costigan doubled home
Alexa Kozarski and DiIanni singled to score Costigan, finishing the scoring.
