YORK, Pa. – The Arcadia University women's swimming team kicked off its season on the road at York College (Pa.) Saturday morning. The Knights (0-1, 0-1 MAC) fell to the Spartans by a score of 115-85 in the season opener. The Knights finished first in four events.

How It Happened

• In the 200-yard medley relay, the team of Mikayla Scardino, Juliane Heller, Ava Despeaux, and Audrey Haydu touched the wall first with a time of 1:56.67.

• Scardino was also the top finisher in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.76.

• Despeaux touched first in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:01.84.

• The 400-yard freestyle team of Brooke Boyd, Sophia Randle, Gabby Schultz, and Haydu rounded out Arcadia's first-place finishes.

• Rylie Pellegrino finished third in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 12:45.69, while Maggie Dent finished fourth in the same race.

• Sam Ehrhart placed fourth in the 50-yard freestyle.

• Lily Stauffer competed in the 100-yard backstroke in her first meet of the season.

• Jenna Carr made her debut in the 500-yard freestyle, finishing with a time of 6:34.66.

The Knights return to the pool next Saturday when they travel to Misericordia University for a conference meet scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.
