Women’s Volleyball Battles in Four-Set Road Match at Lebanon Valley

ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Arcadia University women's volleyball team dropped a hard-fought MAC Freedom conference match on the road to Lebanon Valley College on Wednesday evening. The Flying Dutchmen (7-11, 2-1 MACF) claimed the 3-1 victory over the Knights (8-10, 1-2 MACF) by set scores of 25-21, 18-25, 25-17, and 29-27.

HOW IT HAPPENED

SET ONE: Arcadia 21 – LVC 25
• Lebanon Valley opened the first set with a 3-0 run before the Knights responded with consecutive points, including a kill by Nina Corazo and a Dutchmen attack error.
Devon Young went on the attack, recording three straight kills to trim the deficit to 9-6.
• Three consecutive LVC errors brought the Knights within one point at 10-9.
• Arcadia used a 7-2 run—powered by kills from Chana Rothschild, Corazo, and Anna Keer—to even the set at 18-18.
• The Dutchmen countered with a 3-0 run to push ahead 21-18. A service error halted the streak, but Arcadia's late push came up short despite a final kill from Julia Archelle, as LVC secured the first set, 25-21.

SET TWO: Arcadia 25 – LVC 18
• The Knights jumped out to a 3-0 lead behind back-to-back kills from Archelle and one from Rothschild.
• After LVC pulled within one at 5-4, Arcadia rattled off five straight points—including an ace from Kelsi Warner and a kill from Young—to extend the lead to 10-4.
• The Dutchmen responded with a 6-0 run to tie the set at 10, but the Knights regained control with a surge highlighted by an Archelle kill, a Bryana Saenz ace, and several LVC miscues.
• Back-to-back aces from Warner and a decisive kill from Young sealed the 25-18 victory, evening the match at one set apiece.

SET THREE: Arcadia 17 – LVC 25
• LVC again jumped out to a 3-0 lead before Rothschild stopped the run with a kill.
• The Knights battled back, using a 4-0 stretch that included kills from Young and Archelle and an ace from Young to take an 8-7 lead.
• After Kylie Strange's kill and a Hannah Sanchez ace tied the set at 10, the Dutchmen closed on a 15-7 run to take the set, 25-17, and a 2-1 match lead.

SET FOUR: Arcadia 27 – LVC 29
• Arcadia took an early 3-0 lead thanks to a kill from Archelle and two LVC errors.
• The Knights extended their advantage to 9-2 with kills from Corazo, Rothschild, and Young, along with an ace from Archelle.
• LVC fought back to close the gap to 9-7 before Arcadia rebuilt a 15-9 lead following another Rothschild kill.
• The Dutchmen mounted a 9-1 run to move ahead, 18-16, but the Knights answered with a 6-1 surge to regain momentum.
• With the set tied at 27-27, LVC captured the final two points to clinch the 29-27 set win and the 3-1 match victory.
