GLENSIDE - Strong offense and stout defense lifted the Arcadia University women's basketball team to a 65-45 victory over Gwynedd Mercy in the Battle of 309 from Alumni Gymnasium on Wednesday evening. The Knights have now claimed victory in three straight Battle of 309's.

-Arcadia moved to 2-0 with the win.
-Gwynedd Mercy fell to 0-3.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Trailing 4-3 three minutes into the game, a layup from
Abby Beam and a
Delaney Finn three-pointer put the Knights ahead 8-4.
-Gwynedd Mercy finished the quarter with a 6-2 stretch to tie the game at 10 after the first 10 minutes.
-Arcadia opened the second with a 7-2 run, leading 17-12 with just over three minutes gone.
-The Knights held a 26-23 lead going into halftime.
-Holding a 31-28 lead with 4:31 on the clock, Arcadia finished the third with a 10-4 stretch to lead 41-32 going into the final frame.
-The Knights led never fell below 10 in the fourth as they cruised to the win.
