NEWTOWN, Pa. – The Middle Atlantic Conference has announced its latest edition of weekly awards, and four Arcadia University student-athletes earned conference honors.
The MAC Ice Hockey Offensive Player of the Week was awarded to junior Jude Cole, who helped the Knights go 1-0-1 in a weekend series against Lebanon Valley. Cole recorded three points on the weekend—two goals and one assist. On Friday night, he scored the game-tying goal and added a goal in the shootout to help lift Arcadia to the victory. He followed that performance by scoring the game-winning goal just 64 seconds into the second period of Saturday's 3-0 win.
The MAC Ice Hockey Defensive Player of the Week went to junior goaltender Hayden Williamson, who earned his first shutout of the season and the second of his career in Saturday's 3-0 victory. Williamson stopped all 32 shots he faced, lowering his goals-against average to 2.25 and raising his save percentage to .940. With the shutout, Williamson becomes one of four goalies in the conference with a clean sheet this season.
First-year Sadie Nugent was named MAC Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week after breaking the program record in the 60m during her collegiate debut at the Ursinus Bow Tie Invitational. Nugent won the event with a time of 7.81 seconds, which currently leads the MAC and ranks tied for 16th nationally among early-season qualifiers. She also ran the lead leg on the Knights' 4x400 relay team, which posted a time of 4:25.2.
First-year Sam Larkin earned MAC Women's Wrestler of the Week honors following a standout weekend that included a third-place finish at the New Standard Invitational hosted by York, where she earned three wins by fall and added a dominant tech fall. Larkin then competed at the Muhlenberg Novice Tournament, picking up three additional victories—including two more falls and a tiebreak win—to claim first place at 103 pounds.
