Men's Volleyball Splits in Tri-Match

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Arcadia University men's volleyball team split in its tri-match against MIT 0-3 (21-25, 19-25, 22-25) and Rivier 3-0 (26-24, 25-16, 25-19) in non-conference action.

FOR THE RECORD

-The Knights moved to 8-14.

-MIT moved to 11-11.

-Rivier improved to 6-9.

HOW IT HAPPENED

SET ONE: ARCADIA 21, MIT 25

-MIT started with five quick points.

-In the middle of the frame, the Knights went on a run and trailed by two.

-The Engineers outscored Arcadia 6-2 to close the frame and take the first set.
 

SET TWO: ARCADIA 19, MIT 25

-The Knights fell behind early in this set.

-Arcadia attempted a comeback in the middle of the frame where the came within two.

-MIT was able to remain its lead and secure the second set.
 

SET THREE: ARCADIA 22, MIT 25

-The Knights went on a 8-4 run to take the lead.

-In the middle of the frame, the Engineers tied the set at 14.

-MIT regained its lead an secured the sweep.

HOW IT HAPPENED

SET ONE: ARCADIA 26, RIVIER 24

-Rivier jumped out to an early lead in this set.

-Arcadia mounted a comeback and trailed by one in the middle of the frame.

-The Knights took the lead at 21 with a serive ace from Kodidek.

-Arcadia scored the last four points of the match and a kill by Birch ended set one. 

SET TWO: ARCADIA 25, RIVIER 16

-The Knights took a 7-3 lead to start the second set.

-The middle of the frame was controlled by Arcadia where they outscored its opponent 8-1.

-A service error by the Raiders gave the Knights a 2-0 lead in this match. 

SET THREE: ARCADIA 25, RIVIER 19

-Rivier took the lead to start the third set.

-Arcadia scored four straight to take a 9-5 lead.

-The Knights maintained it lead and secured the sweep.
