DALLAS, Pa. - The Arcadia University men's volleyball team fell to Misericordia 2-3 (19-25, 25-22, 25-23, 19-25, 8-15) and Elmira 1-3 (25-14, 25-27, 25-27, 21-25) on Saturday afternoon at its tri match. 

FOR THE RECORD

-The Knights fell to 8-17, 2-3 (MAC).

-Misericordia moved to 20-9, 5-1 (MAC).

-Elmira improved to 16-5.

ARCADIA 2, MISERICORDIA 3

HOW IT HAPPENED

SET ONE: ARCADIA 19, MISERICORDIA 25

-The Knights scored the first point of the match with a kill from Tucker Elicio.

-In the middle of the frame, Arcadia trailed by three.

-The Cougars scored four straight to take the set.

SET TWO: ARCADIA 25, MISERICORDIA 22

-A block by Reece Dodd and Cameron Birch gave the Knights a 6-3 advantage to start the set.

-Arcadia built on its lead in the middle of the frame.

-Misericordia tied the set at 22, but the Knights scored the last three points to take set two.

SET THREE: ARCADIA 25, MISERICORDIA 23

-The Cougars took an early lead.

-The Knights went on a 4-0 run in the middle of the set to tie it at 16.

-Each team traded points until the final two points were scored.

-A block from Danny Gonzalez and Dodd gave Arcadia a 2-1 lead heading into the fourth set.
 

SET FOUR: ARCADIA 19, MISERICORDIA 25

-Misericordia jumped ahead early.

-The Knights regained its lead in the middle of the frame at point 14.

-The Cougars outscored Arcadia to push it to the fifth set.

SET FIVE: ARCADIA 8, MISERICORDIA 15

-No team gained an early advantage.

-Both teams traded points in the middle of the frame.

-Misericordia scored five straight to take the win.

-Arcadia took an early 9-3 lead to start this match.

-The Knights went on multiple runs and a kill by Dodd gave them the first set.

SET TWO: ARCADIA 25, ELMIRA 27

-No team had an early advantage.

-In the middle of the frame, the Knights broke away and led by three.

-Elmira tied the set at 22.

-The Soaring Eagles scored three straight to tie the match at one.

SET THREE: ARCADIA 25, ELMIRA 27

-This set was another heavily contested battle.

-In the middle of the frame, Elmira took a three point advantage.

-The Knights scored three straight tying the set at 19.

-Arcadia went on a 4-0 run to take the lead at 24.

-The Soaring Eagles battled back and tied the set at 24.

-A block by Birch and Elicio have the Knights the 25 point, however Elmira took the last three to take the lead.
 

SET FOUR: ARCADIA 21, ELMIRA 25

-Arcadia fell behind early in the fourth set.

-In the middle of the frame, the Knights trailed by three.

-Arcadia mounted a comeback, but Elmira scored the last point to win.
