CLEVELAND, Oh. - The Arcadia University baseball team dropped two heartbreakers on Saturday at Day Two of the NCAA Division III Cleveland Regional hosted by Case Western Reserve, falling 14-13 to the No. 17 Spartans before a 12-9 elimination against No. 16 Centre.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Knights jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top oof the second with three straight doubles from
Cam Seymour,
Jake Hendershot, and
Joshua Agriesti, followed later by an RBI single from
Derek Rivera.
-Case Western Reserve got on the board in the bottom of the third on a balk.
-Agriesti added another run for Arcadia in the top of the fourth with a double to right that scored Hendershot.
-After the Spartans cut the lead to 4-2, the Knights began to pile it on in the top of the fifth.
Max Oswald doubled to lead off the inning and came in to score when Seymour launched a two-run homer to right. After Hendershot singled in the next at bat, Agriesti popped another two-run home run down the left field line to put Arcadia ahead 8-2.
-CWRU tied the score with six runs in the bottom of the fifth.
-Arcadia regained the lead in the top of the sixth when
Anthony Bruno launched a two-run double to right-center scoring
Derek Rivera and
Kevin Wheeler, while Hendershot plated Bruno with a single to the same location one batter later to put the Knights ahead 11-8.
-The Spartans scored twice in the bottom of the sixth and twice in the bottom of the seventh to take a 12-11 lead.
-Seymour continued his heroics in the top of the eighth, knocking a solo homer to right-center.
-Arcadia had a stunning defensive play in the bottom of the frame, when following an errant pick off throw allowed a runner to go from first to third with one out, a wild pitch bounced back to Seymour who flipped to
Mitchell Bramsway covering the plate, who got the tag onto the crown of the Spartan baserunners helmet for the out.
-Wheeler gave the Knights the lead in top of the ninth with a sacrifice fly that brought home
Noah Stennett.
-Arcadia was unable to make the lead stick in the bottom of the inning as a bases-loaded walk and a pick off play rundown allowed the tying and winning runs to cross the plate.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Anthony Bruno opened the scoring in the top of the first with an RBI double to the wall in right-center that scored Wheeler.
-Seymour followed with a run-scoring groundout plating Oswald.
-Centre scored three in the first and five in the second to take a, 8-2 lead.
-Wheeler cut the deficit to 8-4 with a two-run single in the top of the fourth scoring
Ryan Radigan and Shandler.
-The Knights put five runs across in the final two innings but were unable to keep the Colonels off the board.
