Men's Soccer Looks to Build on Strong Season in 2025

GLENSIDE - The Arcadia University men's soccer team will look to build on a strong 2024 regular season when it begins play in 2025.

Head coach Joe Clementi '11 enters his eighth season at his alma mater. "For us, we want to continue to build on some of the success we had last season," Clementi explained. "It was a very positive start for us, opening up last season with a strong record of 10-1-1 at one point, but then we really fell off as we got into conference, had to battle some tough injuries so we really want to take a step forward when we get into our conference season this year."

In goal, the Knights return an experienced tandem of seniors in Logan Gildea and Aden Razukiewicz. Joining them this season are first-years Sam Kessinger and Oliver Morlan.

At forward, Devin Schmitt will look to build on a solid season as a United Soccer Coaches All-Region selection, leading a unit that includes returners Ethan Torpey, Logan Watkins, Braiden Sottile, Jonathan Matthews, Giacomo Vacchio, Cian Griffin, Aaron Deskin, and Caden Lausch. Newcomers to the unit that will look to carve out playing time include Brandon Weikel, Scott Jordan, Alex Chyzowych, and Brendan Pontón.

In the midfield, Declan Kelly brings 39 starts of experience to a unit with Elijah Yoder, Tylan Mulcahy, Ryan Cohen, Matthew Willis, Josh Neely, Harris Miller, and Aiden Whitmore returning, while Juan Pozo, Brayden Perry, and Aiden Santamaria taking their first turn through an NCAA season.

On the back line, Honorable Mention All-MAC Freedom selection Sean Lock returns with 45 starts in his career along with returners Gunnar Swanger, Tyler Jankowski, Matthew De Luca, Matthew Grier, Nicolas Canal, Paul Chaykin, and Evan Williams. Newcomers include transfer Aidan Robinson, and first-years Adam Reynolds, Leandro de Cuba, and Jake Dunphy.

The Knights kick off the 2025 season this Friday when they travel to Haverford for a 4:00 p.m. non-conference game, and open their home schedule on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. against Alvernia. Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) play commences October 4th against Lebanon Valley College, while the MAC Freedom Tournament starts November 5th.
