NEWTOWN, Pa. – The Middle Atlantic Conference announced its latest Player of the Week selections on Tuesday, and two Arcadia University student-athletes were recognized for their standout performances on the ice. Phoebe Roberts was named Women's Ice Hockey Offensive Player of the Week, while Ryan Burgess earned Men's Ice Hockey Defensive Player of the Week honors following strong weekend performances against King's College.
Roberts played a pivotal role in Arcadia's weekend sweep of the Monarchs. In Friday's 4-0 victory, she recorded two assists, including the primary assist on Kianna Saillant's game-winning goal. On Saturday, with the Knights trailing 1-0 late in the third period, Roberts delivered in dramatic fashion, scoring the game-tying goal with under 10 seconds remaining to force overtime. Rheya Zemlak would later net the game-winner in overtime to seal the sweep on Senior Day.
For the season, Roberts leads the Knights in goals (13) and points (23) and ranks second on the team in assists (10). Among conference leaders, she is tied for third in goals, fourth in goals per game, tied for 10th in assists, 14th in assists per game, tied for fourth in both points and points per game, and tied for second in game-winning goals.
Burgess anchored the Knights' defensive effort during a 1-0-1 weekend on the road against King's. The senior goaltender allowed just two goals across both contests, making 60 total saves while posting a .968 save percentage and a 0.96 goals-against average for the weekend.
On the season, Burgess has recorded 191 saves while allowing 22 goals, compiling a 3.07 goals-against average and an .897 save percentage. He is averaging 27.29 saves per game for the Knights and continues to be a steady presence between the pipes.
