READING, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's indoor track and field team continued its strong season on Saturday at the Plex Shootout, hosted by Alvernia University. The Knights added multiple Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) and AARTFC Championship qualifiers while also rewriting the program record book.
Wesley Castelli, Brendan Blyth, and Jacob Covage all qualified for the MAC Championships, with Blyth and Covage each breaking school records on the track. The 4x200-meter relay team of Naeem Evans, Bryan Carroll, Ryan Anderson, and Micah Bullock also turned in an AARTFC qualifying performance.
HOW IT HAPPENED – TRACK EVENTS
• Naeem Evans finished 13th in the 60-meter preliminaries with a time of 7.26.
• In the 200 meters, Evans led the Knights with a time of 23.65. Dylan Chauhan recorded a new personal record at 24.25, while Bryan Carroll finished in 24.32.
• Wesley Castelli qualified for the MAC Championships in the 400 meters, leading Arcadia with a time of 53.56. Chauhan followed with a season-best 54.11, Ryan Anderson posted a season best of 54.74, and Micah Bullock crossed in 56.78.
• Brendan Blyth broke the school record in the 800 meters while qualifying for MACs, finishing in 1:59.55.
• Jacob Covage qualified for the MAC Championships in the mile run while also breaking the program record and setting a new personal best with a time of 4:29.39. Ben Williamson added a personal record of 4:38.41, and Landon Gentile-Adamson finished at 5:01.27.
• In the 3,000 meters, Blyth was the top finisher for Arcadia at 9:37.66. Williamson crossed at 9:39.62, matched by Covage, while Gentile-Adamson finished in 10:49.77.
• The 4x200-meter relay team of Evans, Carroll, Anderson, and Bullock qualified for the AARTFC Championships with a time of 1:32.75.
• The 4x400-meter relay team of Chauhan, Gentile-Adamson, Covage, and Blyth finished with a time of 3:50.44.
HOW IT HAPPENED – FIELD EVENTS
• Taeshaun Johnson recorded a best clearance of 1.60 meters in the high jump.
• In the shot put, Aaron Lemons Jr. led the Knights with a throw of 11.02 meters. Keaghan Cote followed at 10.37 meters, Dee Fennimore posted a mark of 7.76 meters, and Tyler Rooney threw 7.39 meters.
• Johnson also led Arcadia in the triple jump, placing third with a mark of 12.66 meters.
• In the weight throw, Lemons Jr. recorded a best of 11.71 meters, while Cote added a mark of 10.61 meters.
