READING, Pa. – The Arcadia University women's indoor track and field team continued its strong campaign on Saturday, competing at the Plex Shootout hosted by Alvernia University. The Knights added multiple Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) and AARTFC Championship qualifiers while also seeing school records fall during another productive meet.
Emma Mae Jones, Sadie Nugent, Maren Weaver, and Donya Baxter all qualified for the MAC Championships with standout performances on the track and in the field. The 4x200-meter relay team of Nugent, Julia Kronimus, Paige Agnew, and Jones qualified for the AARTFC Championships, while Baxter also added an AARTFC qualifying mark in the shot put. Seanna Robinson highlighted the field events by breaking the program record in the weight throw.
HOW IT HAPPENED – TRACK EVENTS
• Sadie Nugent placed second in the 60-meter preliminaries with a time of 7.98 before finishing sixth in the finals at 8.16. Paige Agnew recorded a personal best in the prelims, crossing the line in 8.55.
• Marissa Dougher finished 13th in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 10.57.
• In the 200 meters, Emma Mae Jones ran a season-best 27.92 to place 10th and qualify for the MAC Championships. Agnew followed with a time of 28.29, while Madeline Clauson set a new personal record at 29.63.
• Nugent led the Knights in the 400 meters with a third-place finish in 1:02.82, qualifying for MACs. Grace Curnow followed in 1:04.49, and Jackie Engler ran a season-best 1:07.44.
• Gianna Sube posted a season-best time of 2:47.45 in the 800 meters to lead Arcadia. Sarah Agnew also ran a season best at 2:48.82, while Bridget Jacobson finished in 2:51.64. Jhane Owens crossed in 3:01.76, and Maggie Mead finished at 3:12.80.
• Grace Curnow paced the Knights in the mile, finishing fourth with a new personal record of 5:18.22. Maren Weaver also set a personal best, placing fifth at 5:31.24. Engler finished 16th at 5:55.54, while Emmy Brown Varon (6:15.30) and Mead (6:40.72) each recorded personal bests as well.
• Weaver added another personal record in the 3,000 meters, finishing sixth in 11:08.74 to qualify for MACs. Brown Varon crossed the line at 13:10.83.
• Tia Leister placed second in the 5,000 meters with a time of 19:53.50.
• The 4x200-meter relay of Nugent, Kronimus, Agnew, and Jones finished third with a time of 1:50.18, breaking the program record and qualifying for the AARTFC Championships.
• The 4x400-meter 'A' relay team of Curnow, Weaver, Engler, and Nugent placed third in 4:29.57. The 'B' relay team of Sarah Agnew, Owens, Sube, and Jacobson finished in 5:00.65.
HOW IT HAPPENED – FIELD EVENTS
• Marissa Dougher recorded a top height of 2.45 meters in the pole vault.
• Donya Baxter became an AARTFC qualifier in the shot put with a fourth-place throw of 12.26 meters. Seanna Robinson followed with a best mark of 10.92 meters, while Amma Osei threw 8.72 meters, Faith Perry 8.26 meters, Karissa Kujawa 7.67 meters, and Olivia Schott 5.93 meters.
• Robinson placed third in the weight throw and broke her own school record with a throw of 14.90 meters, surpassing the previous mark she set earlier this season by nearly a full meter. Baxter posted a best throw of 13.02 meters, Perry recorded 11.14 meters, and Kujawa added a mark of 10.53 meters.
