GLENSIDE - A 23-6 opening quarter helped the Arcadia University women's basketball team as it defeated Delaware Valley 71-48 in its Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) opener inside Alumni Gymnasium on Wednesday evening.
FOR THE RECORD
-The Knights improved to 8-5 overall and 1-0 in conference play.
-Delaware Valley fell to 0-1 in league games and 5-7 overall.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Arcadia opened the contest on a 10-0 run.
-The Knights led by as much as 19 before the close of the first quarter.
-Delaware Valley opened the second quarter by scoring as many points in the first three minutes as they did the entire first quarter to cut the lead to 11.
-Arcadia remained ahead by 11 with three minutes left but finished the quarter with a 7-0 stretch, heading into halftime with a 34-16 advantage.
-The Knights outscored their opponent 37-32 to cruise to the victory.
