GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia University women's swimming team earned its first victory of the season on Saturday, defeating Stevenson University 194–68 in a dual meet. The Knights improved to 1–8 overall and 1–4 in conference action and were highlighted by strong relay and individual performances throughout the afternoon.
Arcadia opened the meet with a win in the 400-yard freestyle relay, as Mikayla Scardino, Juliane Heller, Ava Despeaux, and Kiera Krebs touched first with a time of 4:20.24. The Knights also collected multiple individual victories, led by wins from Kylie Perry, Gabby Schultz, Scardino, Heller, Despeaux, and Audrey Haydu.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Scardino, Heller, Despeaux, and Krebs set the tone early with a victory in the 400-yard freestyle relay (4:20.24).
• Kylie Perry captured first place in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 11:55.54. Rylie Pellegrino finished third (12:26.42), and Maddie Farrelly placed fifth (12:33.81).
• Gabby Schultz and Audrey Haydu finished first and second, respectively, in the 200-yard freestyle.
• Scardino won the 100-yard backstroke in 1:02.64, while Sophia Randle (1:11.40) and Lily Stauffer (1:15.46) followed.
• Juliane Heller took first in the 100-yard breaststroke at 1:14.73, with Pellegrino finishing third (1:19.05) and Jenna Carr fourth (1:25.44).
• Ava Despeaux claimed first place in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:23.00, while Maggie Dent finished second (2:45.81).
• In the 50-yard freestyle, Scardino placed first (26.33), Haydu second (27.11), and Krebs fourth (28.27).
• Scardino added another win in the 100-yard freestyle, touching first at 57.10. Randle placed third (1:02.58), and Stauffer finished fourth (1:13.72).
• Schultz, Kayleigh Kennedy, and Dent swept the top three spots in the 200-yard backstroke.
• Heller secured first place in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:42.80), followed by Pellegrino in second (2:54.79) and Carr in third (3:06.65).
• Haydu won the 500-yard freestyle in 5:52.51, with Perry finishing third (6:03.73) and Farrelly fourth (6:07.39).
• Despeaux earned first in the 100-yard butterfly (1:03.76), with Kennedy second (1:08.85) and Krebs third (1:13.53).
• In the 200-yard individual medley, Despeaux finished first at 2:29.27, Heller second (2:33.29), and Dent fourth (2:38.54).
• To close the meet, Arcadia's 200-yard freestyle relay teams finished first and second with times of 1:50.43 and 1:50.93, respectively.
