Men’s Soccer Battles Delaware Valley to 2-2 Draw in Dramatic Finish

GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's soccer team battled to a 2-2 draw against the visiting Delaware Valley after a dramatic finish saw four goals scored in the final six minutes of regulation. The Knights move to 6-3-5, 3-0-2 MAC Freedom.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The two teams played a scoreless first half, with both sides recording one shot on goal as the defensive battle continued into the break.
  • The Knights broke through in the second half when Scott Jordan capitalized on a defensive miscue in the Aggies' back line to net his fifth goal of the season and give Arcadia the lead.
  • The Aggies responded three minutes later, finding the equalizer in the 87th minute to level the match at 1-1.
  • With just 39 seconds remaining, the Knights struck again. BJ Murray delivered an excellent ball into the box that deflected off an Aggies defender and fell to Dominic LoBiondo, who finished the opportunity to put Arcadia ahead, 2-1.
  • With just two seconds remaining, play was stopped to award the Aggies a late corner kick. The visitors converted with a header as time expired, resulting in a dramatic 2-2 draw.
