Men’s Soccer Blanks FDU-Florham, Clinches MAC Freedom Playoff Berth

MADISON, N.J. – The Arcadia University men's soccer team clinched its first berth in the MAC Freedom Tournament since 2021 with a dominant 5-0 shutout victory over FDU-Florham on Tuesday evening. Five different Knights found the back of the net to power the offensive effort as Arcadia improved to 7-3-6 overall and 4-0-3 in MAC Freedom play.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Arcadia wasted no time getting on the board, scoring just four minutes into the contest. Scott Jordan played a ball into the box for Braiden Sottile, who one-timed a left-footed finish from just about 10 yards out into the back-left corner to give the Knights a 1-0 lead.
  • In the 22nd minute, the Knights doubled their advantage on a set-piece opportunity. Brayden Perry played a low free kick into the path of a streaking Logan Watkins, who found himself unmarked and calmly finished to make it 2-0.
  • Jordan extended the lead in the 28th minute, capitalizing on a goalkeeper deflection and finding the back of the net to give Arcadia a three-goal advantage.
  • The Knights added their fourth goal in the 60th minute when Perry delivered a corner kick that found the head of Alex Chyzowych, who finished to push the lead to 4-0.
  • Four minutes later, Dominic LoBiondo found a cutting Elijah Kaba in front of goal. Kaba finished the opportunity in the 64th minute to cap the scoring and secure the 5-0 victory.
