Men's Volleyball Sweep Immaculata for Second Straight 3-0 Victory

GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's volleyball team completed its second 3-0 sweep of the week, defeating Immaculata University in straight sets at home. The Knights (6-5) earned the victory by scores of 25-23, 25-21, 25-21.

Arcadia was paced offensively by Bryce Lewis, Jayden Wacaster, and Luka Erickson, who each recorded five kills. Aidan Mackowiak tallied four service aces, while Lewis and Pete Smith each added three blocks at the net. John Eisenlauer dished out 13 assists, and Cameron Birch and Harrison McCleery led the back row with five digs apiece. As a team, the Knights hit .117 while holding the Mighty Macs to a -.024 hitting percentage.

HOW IT HAPPENED

SET ONE: Immaculata 23 – Arcadia 25

Riley Kodidek opened the match with a service ace, and Bryce Lewis followed with his first kill as the Knights jumped out to a 3-0 lead.
• After Immaculata scored back-to-back points, Arcadia responded with a 5-1 run, highlighted by two kills and an ace from Luka Erickson.
• Kills from Harrison McCleery, Kodidek, Reece Dodd, Tucker Curtis, and Lewis extended the Knights' lead to 17-10.
• Arcadia reached 20 points first, but the Mighty Macs mounted a late push with a 6-2 run. Erickson delivered a kill to bring up set point, and after Immaculata trimmed the lead to 24-23, Erickson secured the set with his fourth kill of the set, 25-23.

SET TWO: Immaculata 21 – Arcadia 25

• The Knights capitalized on early Immaculata miscues to score the first seven points of the set. A McCleery kill later gave Arcadia an 8-3 advantage.
• Another Erickson kill, along with a block assist from Lewis and Smith and two kills from Wacaster, pushed the lead to 17-9.
• Lewis and Erickson combined for a block after a McCleery kill, and Wacaster added another kill and a block alongside Smith to extend the advantage to 22-15.
• Immaculata answered with a 4-0 run, but a Lewis kill and a match-clinching swing from Smith sealed the 25-21 win.

SET THREE: Immaculata 21 – Arcadia 25

• Wacaster opened the scoring for the Knights in the third set. A Lewis ace and a Mackowiak kill, followed by another ace from Mackowiak, evened the set at 8-8.
• The teams traded points throughout the middle portion of the frame, as Smith, Mackowiak, and Dodd recorded kills and Lewis added an ace to give Arcadia a 15-14 edge.
• The Knights created separation with a 4-0 run, beginning with a Mackowiak kill and capped by three consecutive service aces to take a 19-15 lead.
• Dodd and Wacaster added late kills, and a pair of Mighty Mac errors helped secure the 25-21 set win and the 3-0 match sweep.
