ST. DAVIDS, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's lacrosse team traveled to Eastern University on Saturday morning and earned a 15-5 nonconference victory over the Eagles. The Knights (3-1, 0-0) saw

Quinn Finnegan each scored once. Arcadia controlled the game from the outset and outshot Eastern, 52-28, including a 30-13 advantage in shots on goal. The Knights also held edges in ground balls (35-21) and faceoffs (15-8) and capitalized on two of five extra-man opportunities while holding the Eagles scoreless on three attempts.
Nate Hudgins made the start in goal and earned the win with eight saves. At the faceoff X, Colin Brockman went 8-for-12, and Darian Good finished 7-for-11 as the Knights won 15 of 23 faceoffs overall.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Knights won the opening faceoff and quickly pushed into the offensive zone, but Dylan Garber's shot was saved.
• After Hudgins made an early stop on the defensive end, Joey Ewald's initial attempt went wide. On the restart, Mason Barndt found the back of the net to give Arcadia a 1-0 lead.
• Just 90 seconds later, Sean Perkinson converted an extra-man opportunity off an assist from Tristan Johnson to extend the lead to 2-0.
• Eastern cut the deficit to 2-1 midway through the first quarter, but at the 4:47 mark, Johnson scored off a feed from Reilly Robichaud to make it 3-1.
• Johnson added another extra-man goal before the end of the quarter, sending the Knights into the second with a 4-1 advantage.
• Eastern capitalized on a caused turnover to open the second-quarter scoring, trimming the lead to 4-2. After a failed clear attempt by the Eagles, Perkinson netted his second goal of the day following an initial high shot by Laibach.
• With just under nine minutes remaining in the half, Quinn Finnegan scored his third goal of the season to push the lead to 6-2.
• Eastern responded with a goal after converting a rebound off the crossbar, but Alden Cathy scored his first of the season before halftime, giving Arcadia a 7-3 lead at the break.
• The Knights erupted for four unanswered goals in the third quarter. Shillingford opened the scoring off an assist from Finnegan, followed by a Robichaud goal assisted by Garber. Johnson then completed his hat trick, and Ewald capped the run to extend the lead to 11-3.
• Eastern scored back-to-back goals to narrow the gap, but Perkinson answered to make it 12-5 heading into the fourth quarter.
• Arcadia held the Eagles scoreless in the final frame while adding three more goals from Laibach, Mangini, and Johnson, who netted his fourth of the game off an assist from Robichaud.
