STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – The Arcadia University women's indoor track and field team turned in another strong performance Friday evening at the Fastrack Invitational, hosted at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex. The Knights saw two program records fall while adding multiple championship qualifiers, including two MAC qualifiers and one AARTFC qualifier.
HOW IT HAPPENED – TRACK EVENTS
• In the 60-meter dash preliminaries, Sadie Nugent finished second in her heat with a time of 8.04, while Julia Kronimus also took second in her heat, crossing the line in 8.25.
• Grace Curnow posted a 16th-place finish in the 800 meters with a time of 2:19.59, qualifying for the AARTFC Championships.
• Nugent continued her standout day in the 400 meters, breaking the program record with a time of 1:00.43.
• Tia Leister competed in the 3,000 meters, finishing with a time of 11:36.94.
• In the 200 meters, Kronimus led the Knights with a time of 27.58, followed by Marissa Dougher at 30.16 and Lindsey Cummings at 32.99.
• The 4x400-meter relay team of Nugent, Kronimus, Jackie Engler, and Curnow capped the night by setting a new school record with a time of 4:19.97.
HOW IT HAPPENED – FIELD EVENTS
• Olivia Schott finished 15th in the triple jump with a best mark of 10.13 meters, qualifying for the MAC Championships.
• Donya Baxter led Arcadia in the shot put, placing fifth with a throw of 11.95 meters, while Seanna Robinson recorded a best throw of 11.23 meters.
• In the weight throw, Robinson finished 13th with a mark of 13.41 meters, while Baxter posted a best throw of 13.02 meters.
UP NEXT
The Knights will have one final tune-up before the MAC Championships when they travel to University Park, Pa., to compete in the Penn State Tune-Up.
