NEWTOWN, Pa. – The Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) announced its weekly awards, with Arcadia University baseball senior Max Oswald earning MAC Freedom Player of the Week honors following a dominant performance at the plate.
Oswald, a native of Whippany, New Jersey, powered the Knights to a 5–0 week, including a conference sweep of King's. He posted a .692 batting average (9-for-13) while driving in 18 runs and scoring 12 times. His week included six home runs, one double, five walks, two intentional walks, three stolen bases, and two hit-by-pitches. He finished with a .783 on-base percentage, a 2.154 slugging percentage, and a 2.937 OPS.
In the series against King's, Oswald delivered a historic performance. In the opener, he went 2-for-2 with six RBI, two runs scored, and two hit-by-pitches, launching both a two-run home run and a grand slam in the same inning. In the doubleheader, he added another home run in game one before producing a record-setting performance in the nightcap, going 4-for-4 with three home runs, a double, five runs scored, and six RBI. His three home runs in a single game set a new program record.
Oswald currently ranks among the conference leaders, sitting tied for third in batting average (.429) while leading the MAC in OPS (1.511), slugging percentage (.907), on-base percentage (.606), home runs (9), total bases (57), and RBI (31). He also ranks second in walks (17).
This marks the first MAC Freedom Player of the Week honor of Oswald's career.
